Questions
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The page is a set of plain files; once it has loaded, it reads your file inside your browser and sends nothing anywhere. There is no account, no cookies and no analytics. You can switch off your internet connection after the page loads and it still works.
Can I charge interest on late invoices?
In the UK, the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 lets a business charge another business simple interest at 8% above the Bank of England reference rate, plus fixed compensation of £40, £70 or £100 per invoice depending on its size. Ireland has a similar scheme based on the European Central Bank rate. It does not apply to consumers, and your contract may set a different rate. For UK invoices, figures use the rate fixed when interest starts, as the Act sets out. The Small Business Commissioner's calculator switches rate every six months, so for invoices overdue across several half-years its figure can be higher or lower depending on how the Bank Rate has moved. Irish figures use the ECB rate from the half-year in which interest starts; the Regulations can also be read as changing the rate every six months. Figures are only shown in the law's own currency (pounds for the UK, euros for Ireland), and not for invoices more than six years overdue. This page is not legal advice.
Which files work?
Excel (.xlsx) and CSV files, including aged-receivables reports from Xero and QuickBooks and simple invoice trackers. You need at least a client, an amount and a due date (or days overdue). Old .xls and Numbers files need saving as .xlsx or CSV first.
How much late payment interest can I claim?
For a UK business-to-business invoice paid late, the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 allows simple interest at 8% plus the Bank of England reference rate (11.75% a year for interest that starts in 2026), worked out daily, plus fixed compensation of £40, £70 or £100 per invoice. Choose "UK" under Late-payment law and the tool works it out for each overdue invoice from your file. This is not legal advice; your contract may set different terms.
Does it send emails?
No. You review each draft and send it yourself from your own email. Paidbrook never contacts your clients.
Can browser extensions see what I type?
The page itself sends nothing, and it switches off browser spellcheck and grammar tools in its own boxes. Extensions you have installed can still read any web page you open, so turn off ones you don't trust while you use it.
